The state legislature is considering a bill to impose tougher penalties on repeat drunk drivers.
House Bill 82 would mean higher fines and longer prison sentences for repeat DWI offenders previously convicted of vehicular homicide or negligent injuring.
Prosecutors would also be allowed to seek the seizure and auction of an offender's vehicle after third and fourth offenses.
The House Appropriations Committee is expected to continue discussing the bill this morning.
