New Orleans police are investigating the discovery of a duffel bag containing skeletal remains in the Gentilly area on Tuesday afternoon.
Officers responded around 12:30 p.m. to a call about the bag of bones near Annette and Benefit Streets. Two boys told police they found the remains inside a duffel bag that had been dropped into an open catch basin.
Neither the police nor the parish coroner's office have confirmed whether the bones are human.
