The Metropolitan Crime Commission is reporting that violent crime is down in New Orleans compared to last year.
New data shows decreases in homicides, non-fatal shootings, carjackings, and other crimes.
The commission says a major violent crime has still been reported in every New Orleans police district this year, with most crimes being committed in the French Quarter and the Central Business District.
Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill says local and federal agencies working together have made a difference.
