Apparent Human Bones Found In Retention Pond Near Slidell

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's office is investigating after apparent human skeletal remains were found in a Slidell-area retention pond.

A fisherman discovered the bones on Monday afternoon in a pond near Indiana Avenue and US Highway 11.

The parish coroner is working with the LSU Forensic Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services, known as FACES, to identify the remains.

The sheriff's office says foul play isn't suspected.
