Louisiana Health Officials Confirm Child Measles Case In Kenner

State health officials are confirming a case of measles in a child.

The Louisiana Department of Health says the patient was exposed to the disease during international travel and is now isolated at a hospital.

People may have been exposed to measles last Friday if they were at the Target or the Walmart Supercenter, both on West Esplanade Avenue in Kenner.

This is the first case of measles reported in Louisiana this year. There were three measles cases reported in the state in 2025.
