Stepson Of Grand Isle Police Officer Arrested For Manslaughter

The stepson of a Grand Isle police officer faces charges after an armed robbery attempt that got his accused accomplice killed.

Investigators say Wallace Ledet Jr. and Drevon Mixon planned a week ago to rob three people in a car who intended to buy drugs from them.

When Mixon pulled a gun, one of the people in the car shot and killed him.

Ledet is charged with attempted armed robbery and manslaughter.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office says the shooting was justified, but the three people in the car may face drug charges.
