Sentencing is a week from today for a man convicted on Wednesday of two counts of second-degree murder.

A Jefferson Parish jury found Jamal Harris guilty of murdering Jessica Troulliet and her father Robert Templet in October 2020.

Harris was a convicted felon on parole when he connected with Troulliet through a dating app.

Templet joined his daughter as she gave Harris a ride to Marrero, but Troulliet soon wanted to end the date.

From the back seat, Harris shot both victims in the back of the head.
