Louisiana is increasing the number of black bears that can be legally bagged during bear season later this year.
The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission announced last Thursday that the number of bear tags issued to hunters will increase from 26 last year to 42 this year.
Each hunter is still limited to one bear, so the increased count means more hunters will be involved.
Black bear hunting season in Louisiana is scheduled for December 6th to the 20th this year.
