Gov. Jeff Landry is again on the losing end of trying to pass a slate of proposed constitutional amendments.

Landry supported four of the five amendments on Saturday's ballot. His political organization spent $1 million campaigning to win voter approval.

Every amendment lost by double-digit margins.

Landry personally campaigned in favor of Amendments 3 and 4, concerning teacher pay raises and business inventory taxes respectively. They were part of his more comprehensive budget and tax constitutional amendment package that voters also rejected last year.

The governor posted on X Monday, "In light of Amendment 3 falling short, I want to make it very clear - if our teachers don't get a permanent raise this year, nobody in state government gets a pay raise. I mean nobody."
