New state legislation is intended to bring more business to NASA's 65-year-old rocket factory in New Orleans East.
The Michoud Assembly Facility on Old Gentilly Road has built space hardware for all of the nation's manned space missions, most recently including the Artemis moon flights.
The Legislature has passed new incentives to attract private aerospace companies and contractors like SpaceX to support NASA's ongoing mission.
The idea is for companies to bring more high-tech jobs to the area.
