Cassidy Refuses To Endorse Either Candidate In GOP U.S. Senate Runoff

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy is refusing to endorse either of the candidates in the GOP primary runoff to replace him in the Senate.

In Saturday's primary, U.S. Congresswoman Julia Letlow led the field, with State Treasurer John Fleming in second and Cassidy a close third.

Letlow has the endorsement of President Donald Trump, but Cassidy says he plans to focus on his seven remaining months in the Senate.

Cassidy voted to convict Trump in one of the impeachments the Democrats brought against him in his first term.
