Gov. Jeff Landry says a new Artificial Intelligence data center is coming to Rapides Parish soon.
Landry announced the development on Tuesday at England Airpark in Alexandria.
The multi-billion-dollar project is expected to bring 200 high-paying jobs to the town of Boyce, where it will be built.
Landry says Cleco will provide power to the data center, and Applied Digital, which is building it, will kick back funds to the local school district.
Officials say the center should be completed in about a year's time.
