An assault suspect who was accidentally released from the Orleans Parish jail last Friday is back in custody.
Dreion Williams turned himself in on Wednesday morning.
Sheriff Michelle Woodfork says the mistake resulted from employee unfamiliarity with a new computerized records system that was installed last month, before she took office.
Woodfork says the Beacon computer system was installed with insufficient training, and she's taking immediate steps to fix that so that similar mistakes don't happen again.
