House lawmakers are expected to vote today on the state's new congressional district map proposed by Republicans.
The Legislative Black Caucus held a press conference on Wednesday urging constituents to call on their representatives to vote against it.
The GOP redrew the map after the U.S. Supreme Court's recent ruling that a majority black Louisiana district was an unconstitutional racial gerrymander.
Representative Edmond Jordan, chairman of the Legislative Black Caucus, said he plans to sue the state if the map is approved.
