A woman who ran for mayor of Gonzales faces charges after a shooting that wounded a man in Hammond.
Police responded on Wednesday to the reported shooting at a home on Perry Lane, where they found a man who had been shot in the chest. The victim is in critical condition.
Investigators say the suspect, identified as Kemlyn Lomas of Gonzales, later turned herself in.
