Gov. Jeff Landry will have a press conference this morning in which he's expected to announce a means of funding teacher pay raises.

The proposal reportedly involves making use of the $4 billion Minimum Foundation Program, which the state uses to fund school districts.

When the state legislative session ended on Monday, lawmakers still hadn't come up with a plan to fund teacher pay raises.

The result is a $198 million gap that will have to be filled in order to avoid pay cuts for educators.
