The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is announcing Free Fishing Weekend this Saturday and Sunday.
The event allows people and families to enjoy fishing without having to get a license.
A Recreational Offshore Landing Permit will still be required for catching certain game fish, but fees for the permit will be waived for this weekend.
The permit can be applied for online.
