New Hope Park In St. Charles Parish Is Sold, Shut Down

St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation is announcing the permanent closure of Good Hope Park in Norco.

The parish council on Monday unanimously approved the sale of the park to Shell Norco, an adjacent refinery.

Good Hope Park was sold for $100,000, which will be used to fund additional improvements at Bethune Park.

The parish will no longer maintain the park, and public access will be shut down.
