There were no major changes in the Tuesday afternoon update from the National Hurricane Center on what could be the first named storm of the 2026 season.
Forecasters expect it will briefly become Tropical Storm Arthur on Wednesday before making landfall.
However, heavy rains associated with the system will be well east of its center, putting southeast Louisiana at risk for flash flooding. A flood watch is in effect through Friday.
