Declining enrollment could force NOLA Public Schools to close, consolidate or reconfigure some campuses in the coming years.

A school board committee reviewed a proposed policy Tuesday that would require the superintendent to determine by November 1 whether the district has too many seats for the number of students enrolled. If so, a plan would be due by December 15.

Any school closures would not take effect during the upcoming school year.
