DHS Sec Refuses To Admit Paying Illegals Would Create Bigger Border Crisis

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas before the Senate Judiciary Committee refused to admit that Biden’s reported plan to pay illegal immigrants $450,000 each over Trump’s family separation policy would lead to an increase in illegal immigration.

Sen. Ted Cruz to Mayorkas:

“It's been reported the by the Biden administration is considering paying illegal immigrants who whose families were separated for $450,000 a piece that would mean for a family of four they would get 1.8 million dollars...
do you think it is a good idea to pay illegal immigrants four and a half-times times what we pay the family of a service member killed in combat...if we pay millions of dollars to illegal immigrants in your professional judgment will we get more illegal immigration or less illegal immigration?”

Mayorkas refused to answer instead he filibustered, prompting Sen. Cruz:

“I said is it a good idea to pay the money and would you get more illegal immigration or less illegal immigration if you give millions of dollars to illegal immigrants
Can he answer the question...
So the Secretary of DHS has no idea whether paying illegal immigrants millions of dollars produces more illegal immigration.”

Mayorkas doesn't want to answer because he doesn't want to admit that Biden's plan to pay illegal immigrants will create an even more dire crisis at the border.

He also wouldn't comment on the $450,000 figure
