NHC: Francine's Eyewall Nearing Southern Louisiana

Louisiana Residents Prepare As Hurricane Francine Heads Towards Coastline

The National Hurricane Center said Hurricane Francine is close to landfall with the system now moving northeast at 17 miles per hour.

"Hurricane-force winds in the northern eyewall of Francine are nearing the coast of southern Louisiana," the NHC noted at 3 p.m.

Maximum winds remained at 90 miles per hour.
