Local utilities say they don't expect this week's winter storm to severely impact their electrical systems, but residents should prepare anyway.
Representatives from Cleco, Entergy Louisiana, and Entergy New Orleans made the comments on Friday.
They advised people in the path of the cold front to prepare winter weather kits, which can include a flashlight, fresh batteries, canned food, a non-electric can opener, bottled water, medication, first aid supplies, fully charged mobile devices and toiletries.
