The National Hurricane Center is watching an area east of Bermuda for the potential of developing into the first tropical depression of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.
"Satellite images indicate that disorganized showers and thunderstorms are displaced to the east of an area of low pressure located about 600 miles east of Bermuda. Environmental conditions are still marginally favorable for further development, and an increase in thunderstorm activity could result in the formation of a short-lived tropical depression today," said the NHC Monday morning.
By Tuesday, conditions would not be favorable for development.
There is no threat to the Gulf Coast from this system. The National Weather Service says our area will continue to deal with highs in the 90s mixed in with daily rain chances, mainly in the afternoon hours.
