Gov. Jeff Landry is thanking an Alexandria native for helping rescue kids at a summer camp in Texas during the weekend's flood.

Emma Foltz is in her third year as a counselor at Camp Mystic near Kerrville. She's a senior at Louisiana Tech in Ruston.

Foltz reportedly helped rescue 14 young girls from the flash flood on the Guadalupe River.
