Tropical Rains Move Through South Louisiana

Development chances remain on the low side for an area of low pressure moving across the northern Gulf, the National Hurricane Center said Thursday.

"Over the next day or so, this system is forecast to move generally westward across the northern Gulf where some slow development is possible. By this weekend, the system is likely to move inland, ending its chances for development," said the NHC. "Regardless of tropical cyclone formation, locally heavy rainfall is possible for portions of the northern Gulf coast through this weekend."

Rainfall totals through Sunday morning show amounts of around one inch expected for south Louisiana, with potentially higher amounts to our west and along the coast.
