Tropical Storm Imelda Could Become Hurricane By Tuesday

Tropical Storm Imelda may become a hurricane by tomorrow.

The storm is currently moving across the northwestern Bahamas and is 240 miles southeast of Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Imelda is forecast to turn east and is not expected to directly impact the Southeast.

However, both Imelda and Hurricane Humberto, which is spinning further out in the Atlantic, are expected to cause dangerous rip currents, rainy conditions, big waves and coastal flooding from Florida to North Carolina.

Imelda will move away from the U.S. coast by the middle of the week.
