A combination of King Tides and rough sea swells from Tropical Storm Jerry could mean a return of significant flooding along the North Carolina coastline this weekend. More houses are also at risk of being washed into the Atlantic Ocean.
The National Weather Service is predicting wind gusts of over 50 mph, dangerous rip currents, beach erosion and over wash in the Outer Banks region.
Meanwhile out West, Hurricane Priscilla is now a category two storm off the west coast of Mexico and could impact the U.S. Southwest later this week.
Forecasters at the NHC also continue to watch an area in the Gulf with a low chance of development.
Southwestern Gulf:
Disorganized showers and thunderstorms continue with a trough of low pressure moving westward across the Bay of Campeche. Some slow development of this system is possible before it moves inland over southern Mexico later today or early Thursday. Regardless of development, areas of heavy rain and gusty winds are likely across portions of southern Mexico during the next day or so.
