The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans is preparing for the possibility of heavy rain and flooding as Tropical Storm Bertha approaches.
The utility's leaders met on Monday at Drainage Pump No. 6 at the Orleans-Jefferson Parish line and bragged about their crews making ready as the storm tracks toward southeast Louisiana.
City leaders are leaning on the Sewerage and Water Board to improve drainage after the heavy rains of July 11th led to street flooding in Uptown and Mid-City.
