Kanye West has officially been red-pilled (which means he went right-wing, for those who aren't hip).
West recently returned to social media and used the occasion to declare his support for free speech, free thought and free markets.
Yesterday Kanye upset all his Leftist fans by boosting conservative YouTuber Candace Owens, a black Trump-supporting Republican with other 200,000 followers on Twitter. Owens has gained a following as a political commentator who criticizes BlackLivesMatter and the #MeToo movement. She also thinks President Donald Trump is doing a good job.
Some of his fans are upset that he came out as right-wing, but he didn't stop there.
It seems that Kanye may have seen the backlash against his pro-Republican tweet because he followed up the statement with these tweets...
"People demonize people and then they demonize anybody who sees anything positive in someone whose been demonized"
"we have freedom of speech but not freedom of thought"
"The thought police want to suppress freedom of thought"
"Hi, thought police! You've f***ed with the wrong thinker".
As a reminder, he told his fans he supported Trump after the 2016 election and the backlash was so bad he had to cancel his entire tour.
In February of 2016 he had another "right-wing" moment on social media when he tweeted, "No true freedom without economic freedom."
He's come a long way since "George Bush doesn't care about black people".
The Kanye West of 2018 would probably adamantly disagree with the Kanye West of 2005. Paying taxes will do that to you.
