Landry Offers Governor Execution Options

No one's been executed in Louisiana since 2010 but Attorney General Jeff Landry is continuing to press Governor John Bel Edwards to change that.

Landry fired off a letter to Edwards that seeks the governor's personal stance on the death penalty and suggests alternatives to lethal injection. Those include electrocution, firing squads, hanging and nitrogen hypoxia.

Execution by lethal injection has been on hold in Louisiana because pharmaceutical companies won't sell the needed drugs to the state.
