New Orleans Archbishop Hopes Investigation Will Wrap Up Soon

New Orleans Archbishop Gregory Aymond says he is hoping for the criminal probe into a former clergy member to wrap up soon.

It was first reported police were investigating abuse allegations involving former deacon George Brignac as a criminal matter. Officials have been looking into accusations of people being abused as children by Brignac while working with the Catholic church for the last two months.

Archbishop Aymond says he believes it would be the right move for law enforcement officials to bring charges should he be found guilty.

Aymond also said he is working with others across Louisiana to name past and present clergy members accused of misconduct.
