Vigil, Funeral Set For Slain LSU Basketball Player Wayde Sims

A candlelight vigil and funeral services are set for LSU basketball player Wayde Sims who was shot to death last Friday morning while defending a friend during a fight involving a group of people.

The killing occurred across from Southern University and a suspect has been arrested.

Bond Set For Suspect In Killing Of LSU Basketball Player

Information from tipsters and a pair of glasses found at the scene helped authorities identify the suspected killer of Wayde Sims as Dyteon Simpson.

The candlelight vigil for Sims will be held this evening at eight in front of the Peter Maravich Assembly Center, while his funeral will be held Saturday at noon at Healing Place Church.
