Organizers of the effort to recall New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell say they still need 15,000 signatures in the month remaining.
Supporters of the recall gathered Sunday on North Claiborne Avenue to announce their final push in their campaign.
Recall advocates have until February 22 to collect 54,000 registered voters' signatures to trigger the recall election.
Community organizer Belden Batiste and Cantrell's former social media manager Eileen Carter filed the petition last August, naming crime as the main issue.
In an appearance on CBS's Face The Nation Sunday, Cantrell said the recall effort would fail because city residents prefer "continuity in leadership."
